While stickers are a cinch to apply, it is also a fact that removing them is another story. If peeling slowly doesn’t work, there is little choice but to be more creative.
There are certain items and tricks you can use to remove stickers and residue left from the stickers. You can, for instance, try waving hair dryer over the sticker or you can try soaking water-resistant items into the water to remove the sticker.
In the lines to follow, we are describing some useful methods that you can apply to remove stickers.
Use Alcohol
While alcohol is not an ideal solution for many life’s problems, it is, however, an effective solution for removing stickers. The best part about this is that you don’t need to waste good quality booze on this effort. Even though ethanol is a better solution yet rubbing alcohol will also solve the problem with comfortability. Before applying the rubbing alcohol to the sticker, you will need to soak a paper towel in it. Allow the towel to sit in the alcoholic solution for twenty to thirty minutes. Once you’re done with the soaking, applying it to the sticker will remove it much more easily.
Apply Baking Soda
Baking soda is believed to be one of the most effective life hacks for removing stickers and sticky residue. The science with baking soda is fairly easy as you are not required to do a lot of things. Take a few spoonfuls of baking soda along with your preferred water brand. It will create a paste which you can rub all over the affected area. Then allow it to sit for almost half an hour. Afterward, wipe it using a paper towel.
The second method is using cooking oil or coconut oil instead of water. Such a mixture is ideally the best for tougher sticky residue. However, cleaning it up will be a bit of a challenge.
Hair Dryer
The use of a hairdryer is one of the most useful and impactful life hacks to remove stickers from any surface. It can only work if the surface is strong enough to withstand exposure to hot air for a few minutes.
To begin with, set the hair dryer to the hottest setting and direct at the sticker you wish to remove! The heat from the hair dryer will dampen the sticker’s adhesive. When this starts to happen, you can remove the sticker without any trace of the residue!
Nail Polish Remover
As much as it sounds silly, the fact remains that nail polish remover could help you a great deal! It makes an excellent sticker and sticky residue remover. The nail polish remover typically contains an important chemical called acetone. The acetone is a powerful solvent. This attribute makes it a perfect solution for removing stubborn stickers and sticky residue. Make sure that you are no using this after a manicure.
Aside from the above mentioned, you can also use items like peanut butter and a pencil eraser to get rid of stickers. All that matter is knowing and applying the right trick.
